TOGS & LUCELEC SPONSORS THE UPCOMING NATIONAL INDEPENDENCE TENNIS TOURNAMENT 2019 

In celebrating the 40th year of St. Lucia's independence, The St. Lucia Tennis Association on the 15th of February 2019 will be serving off the Eighth National Independence Tennis Tournament. The Event which is brought to you by TOGS and LUCELEC, caters for all categories starting with the Under 10s all the way up to the senior category. The event will be hosted at the National Tennis Centre in Beasuejour, Gros Islet from Friday 15th -Thursday 21st February, 2019.

This tournament is the biggest local tennis event every year and players look forward to competing for the championships in their respective categories. New champions will emerge on February 21st in the men's and women's open category as the defending Champions Meggan William and Jean Philippe Murray respectively, are away at university in the U.S on Tennis Scholarships and will not be participating.

The Clubs and Academies competing in this year's event are VL International coached by the man himself Vernon Lewis; Blanchard's Tennis Academy head coaches by Ron & Earl Blanchard; Tigers Inflow Tennis Academy with head coach Sirsean Arlain; Acers Tennis Academy with coaches Scyla Murray and Thaddeus Emile; Southern Amateur Tennis Club with head coaches Leroy Montoute and Jesse Fontallio together with Tonis Tennis Academy with head coach Anthony Biscette. All coaches are preparing their athletes and themselves for this prestigious event.

In keeping with the 40th independence theme "All in Our Journey our Future", the tennis association is inviting the public to celebrate Independence with us and be a part of every athletes journey in this event. The participants are our pride, our future in the sport, they are our tomorrow. Admission is free, come support your club, support our stars.

The Tennis Association says a hearty "Thank You" to TOGS and LUCELEC for their generosity in hosting this event. We also applaud the coaches and parents for their efforts and hard work put into preparing the athletes for this tournament.
