ST LUCIA U16 SR4 TRANSITIONAL SERIES- RESULTS DAY 2

Great results from our local athletes with Jordan Hunte from St. Lucia advancing to the final of the boys 16s and Aviona Edmund coming in second in the girls draw. 

Following the completion of round robin draw yesterday the final positions are as follows;

Today in the two semi-finals we saw Jordan Hunte St. Lucia defeating Arden Rosemond St. Lucia in straight sets 6-2 6-0. Hunte has claimed his spot in the final to play Sebastian Sylvester from Trinidad for the championship. Sylvester on the other hand defeated his countryman Levi Hinkson in the other semi-final in a two hour match that could have gone either way, Hinkson lost to Sylvester in  straight sets 7-6(7-3) 6-4 but not without a fight. The boys Hunte and Sylvester will be competing on centre tomorrow for the championship. 

Cutting their loses and moving on Arden Rosemond and Levi Hinkson played for positions 3-4 with Hinkson defeating Rosemond in straight sets 6-2 6-1. Levi came in third placing Rosemond in the fourth position overall in the main draw. 

We also had some more competitive matches on court with the boys playing for positions 5-8. Josh Gonsalves from Trinidad got the best of Petterson George from St. Lucia in straight sets 6-3 6-1, Gonsalves also went on to defeat Rodaine Monelle from Antigua in straight sets placing Gonsalves in the 5th position overall in the main draw  and Monelle in the 6th. Petterson George played Saneil Bernard defeating him for position 7th putting Bernard in the 8th position of the main draw. 

Orlando Augustin, Jonas Sylvester, Aaron Gerarld and Nathan Elliott played for positions 9-12 with Aaron topping the group defeating Orlando Augustin 6-3 3-6 10-5, he also defeated Nathan Elliott in three sets 6-2 2-6 10-6. Nathan Elliott placed 10th Orlando 11th Jonas Sylvester came in 12th.

Meanwhile the girls were also battling out for positions 1-5 with Selene Kentish from Antigua sitting at the top of the table with 3 wins 0 losses so far. Today she defeated Jorja Mederick in straight sets 6-1 6-0. Aviona Edmund played Alysa Elliott for positions 2 & 3 defeating Elliott in straight sets 6-3 7-6. Edmund also went on to defeat Jorja Mederick in straight sets 6-4 6-4 securing her spot at number 2 in the girls main draw.

Three more matches are carded for tomorrow, the final of the boys 16s Jordan Hunte St. Lucia facing Sebastian Sylvester from Trinidad & Tobago. In the girls draw Selene Kentish from Antigua will face Alannah Bousquet St. Lucia. This will be followed by the match up between Alysa Elliott and Alannah Bousquet.
