SMASHING PERFORMANCE AT THE C.O. WILLIAMS TENNIS TOURNAMENT- DAY 4

Amia Jn Marie claims the doubles U12 Title with Partner from the U.S.A Abba Campbell-Smith while Alhil Cyril and Denney Estava advances to the semi-final of the Boys U12 Category. 

Yesterday was another great day for the junior team representing St. Lucia in Barbados at the C.O. Williams Tennis Tournament.

Amia Jn Marie student of the Gros-Islet Primary School advanced to the final of the girls U12 singles category while she and her partner claimed the doubles title. Jn Marie has outdone all her opponents being unbeatable thus far. She played fantastic and competitive tennis defeating Danielle Kennedy from St. Vincent & the Grenadines in the semi-final in straight sets 6-0 6-2. She plays for the championship today.

In the boys U12 Alhil Cyril student of the Carmen Rene Memorial School snatched the semi-final spot in a 2 hour quarter-final match defeating Oliver Harragin from Trinidad & Tobago in straight sets 6-2 6-1. Denney Estava also breezed his way to the semi-final defeating Scott Abraham from Trinidad & Tobago in straight sets 6-1 6-0. Estava and Cyril teamed up in the doubles taking down the duo from Trinidad & Tobago Scott Abraham and Alex Sharma in the quarter-final, the score was 6-3 6-2.

In the consolation round Sanjay Lake has advanced to the semi final, he plays for a spot in the final today. Immanuel Charles lost to Jacob Jacelon from Trinidad & Tobago 4-2 4-1. In the doubles Charles partnered with Lake as they lost to Trinidad and Tobago Nicholas Abraham and Oliver Harragin 6-2 6-4. Aayush Sharma and his partner Nathanael Lawrence lost in straight sets to the Bajan duo Adam King and Zach King, the score was 6-2 6-4.

In the boys U14 Ishaan Shama and partner Khayden Mcqueen from Grenada put up a great fight against the duo from Trinidad & Tobago defeating them in straight sets 6-2 7-5.

Today our boys are playing semi-final in the boys U12; Denney Estava, Alhil Cyril and Sanjay Lake, we wish them all the best. They have made us all proud!
