SAGICOR COTECC U14 TENNIS TOURNAMENT-RESULTS DAY 5

CHRISTIAN EVANS ADVANCES TO THE BOYS' U12 MAIN DRAW, WHILE ALANNAH BOUSQUET MOVES FORWARD IN THE GIRLS U14 DOUBLES.


The U12 category started yesterday on court 5 & 6 at the National Tennis Centre with Amara Jn Marie, Christian Evans & McCarvy Cyril representing St. Lucia. Christian Evans new on the international scene has advanced to the main draw of the boys he will face Jordell from Trinidad & Tobago in the quarter final, Evans trains with the Southern Amateur Tennis Club in Vieux Fort. Because of their loss yesterday Amara Jn Marie and McCarvy Cyril moves to the consolation round today where they will be playing for positions 5th-8th.

Unfortunate news for Arden Rosemond and Iyana Paul who did not get passed second round in the singles as anticipated. Rosemond lost to Trinidadian number one seed Luca Shamsi in straight sets 6-1 6-1, and Paul lost to the number 2 seed Sibley Charles from Antigua & Barbuda also in straight sets 6-0 6-2.

In doubles Alannah Bousquet had some good results yesterday as she and her partner Serena Bryan from Barbados advanced to the third round defeating Maely Betzy from Martinique and Jordane Dookie from Trinidad & Tobago. The duo won in three sets 6-1 3-6 10-5. Bousquet and Bryan will face the number two seeds Cameron Wong from Trinidad & Tobago and Rosario Elmudesi from Guatemala in the quarter-final. In the other doubles Arden Rosemond and his partner Xavier Peter-Gooding lost to the Guatemalans in straight sets 6-3 6-1. Iyana Paul and Latoya Murray also lost in the doubles second round in straight sets 6-0 6-1.

In the boys consolation Corey Charles lost to Afi Lucas from St. Vincent & the Grenadines 6-4 6-2 and Latoya Murray lost to Aysha Hosam from Antigua & Barbuda 6-3 6-0.
