SAGICOR COTECC U14- MAIN DRAW RESULTS

IYANA PAUL AND ARDEN ROSEMOND ADVANCES TO THE SECOND ROUND OF THE MAIN DRAW 

Great news for team St. Lucia as Iyana Paul and Arden Rosemond are flying the flag high advancing to the quarter-final round of competition. This is a great accomplishment for them making it to the main draw in a G1 tournament and now advancing to the second round.

 Paul defeated Ariel Kelsick from Antigua & Barbuda in a two hour marathon on court 2 taking it to three sets. Paul started the match leading at 3-0 when Kelsick did a remarkable recovery bringing the score to 3-3. Kelsick continued dominating winning the first set 6-4. Paul with patience and perseverance capitalized on Kelsick's weaknesses easily took the second set 6-3. She then went on to win the third set with the same score 6-3. Paul will face Sibley Charles another Antiguan in the quarter-final.

Arden Rosemond continues to take home court advantage dismissing James Hadden from Trinidad & Tobago in straight sets 6-4 6-2, Rosemond has come a long way in this tournament and we expect great results from him. He has advances to the quarter-final where he will take on another Trinidadian #1 seed in the main draw Luca Shamsi. 

 Iyana Paul & Latoya Murray St. Lucia teamed up for doubles where they defeated the Antigua duo Aysha Hosam and Sydney Kentish in three sets 4-6 6-3 10-5. Other good news Alannah Bpousquet St. Lucia partnered with Serena Bryan from Barbados defeating Antiguans Samaar Davis & Ariel Kelsick in straight sets 6-1 6-1.

Arden Rosemond St. Lucia also advances to the second round in doubles partnering with Xavier Peter-Gooding from Barbados. The duo defeated the team from Trinidad & Tobago James Hadden & Daniel Jeary in straight sets 6-3 6-1. 

Victory for team St. Lucia again with Latoya Murray defeating Sage Bascombe from St. Vincent & the Grenadines in the girls consolation draw. Murray defeated her opponent in straight sets 6-1 6-3. In the boys consolation Jonas Sylvester also had a very good first round match defeating Orlando Augustin from  France in straight sets 6-7 6-3 10-5. In another consolation Corey Charles St. Lucia also won his match against Marcus Young from St. Vincent & the Grenadine in straight sets 6-1 6-3.

In the other main draw singles played we saw the fall of Alysa Elliott to Sibley Charles from Antigua & Barbuda in straight sets 6-1 6-2. Jorja Mederick also lost to Antigua Brasher Dyer number 3 seed in the main draw, Dyer quickly dismissed Mederick in straight sets 6-0 6-0. Alannah Bousquet also lost to Trinidadian Jordane Dookie in straights sets 6-2 6-2. 

In the main draw doubles Mederick & Elliott partnered to face Zara Ghuran and Jaedaelee Daniel-Joseph from Trinidad & Tobago. The Trinidadians got the best of them in straight sets 6-1 6-1. Amelia Rosemond St. Lucia partnered with Sage Bascombe Vincentian to face Antiguans Janae George-Alexander and Joey James, the Antiguans claimed victory defeating them in straights sets 6-1 6-0. On the boys side Saige Charlemagne St. Lucian partnered with Orlando Augustin from france to face Trinidadian rivals Nathen Martin and Jaylon Chapman. The Trinidadian team defeated them in straight sets 6-1 6-2.
