Merderick & Rosemond Champions of the 18 & under Category 

Jorja Mederick former 18 & under champion of the Independence Tennis Tournament has claimed yet another title in this category winning the title at the TOGS Easter Tennis Tournament. In the first round she defeated Amelia Rosemond in straight sets 6-0 6-2. Also Rosemond had some blazing cross-court  winners it was not enough for her to pull through a win against Mederick who can be a very effective defensive and offensive player when needs be. 

Mederick also breezed her way through Latoya Murray in straight sets 6-0 6-1. She was challenged by Iyana Paul and Alysa Elliott in the other rounds played where she defeated Paul in straight sets 6-3 6-1.  Elliott on the other hand did not go down without a fight losing in three sets. Elliott took the first set 6-2 leading in the second. Mederick realizing her position managed to pull through a win in the second 6-4. She then swiftly secured the third set 6-1 making her the girls 18s Champion second title for the year. 

Arden Rosemond best 14 & under junior player in St. Lucia got to showoff why he is after defeating the other top juniors during the tournament. His first victory was against Nathan Elliott defeating him in straight sets, he then went on to play Saige Charlemagne defeating with the same straight sets.

 He automatically advanced to the main draw where he faced Petterson George in the semifinal defeating him but after a good fight from George. He won the first set with George doing a major comeback winning the second. He won the third set and advanced to the final. He faced Aaron Gerald in the final playing for the Championship. Aaron gave his best against the young agile player but it was not enough to take down Rosemond. Rosemond won in straight sets after two hours of being in the sun and rain playing. He was declared boys 18s champion by chair umpire Ms. Dara Sidoine.
