Two titles for Nathanael Charles at the Summer Slam Tennis Tournament 2020

Nathanael Charles student of the Gros -Islet Primary School and member of the Acers Tennis Club has had a remarkable run at the Summer Slam Tennis Tournament last week as he was able to capture two singles and one doubles title. 

Charles started the 12 & under category with a first round loss to Soren Clairmonte, to make the main draw he had to defeat Sanjay Lake which he did convincingly 4-0 4-0. He was number two in his round robin group but that did not stop him on his quest to attaining the championship cup.  Charles faced Peter Murray in the semi-final in straight sets 4-0 4-0. He had his rematch against Clairmonte in the final and got his retaliation defeating him in straight sets 4-0 4-1.

In the 14 & Under category Charles dominated against all his counterparts winning all his matches in that draw. His first victory was against K-Zahn Elwin in straight sets- 4-1 4-2, he then went on to defeat Ishan Patra 4-1 4-1. The deciding match for position one was against Silern Louis. Louis is a very skillful and advance player as he had a good run in the 14s category the whole tournament. Charles had a slow start against Louis losing the first set 1-4, he regrouped and won the second set 5-3. After winning the second set Charles swiftly put an end to Louis in the third set 4-0. He was declared champion by chair umpire Iesha Emile.
